The team headed North last week to install bowling green ditch fill for Whitley and Monkseaton Bowling Club.
The sun was shining which made for a pleasant trip.
Arriving in a beautiful setting, the team got cracking.
First job was removing the sand filling the ditches.
Next they laid out and fit the fabric membrane into place. Membrane is very useful as there is no need for chemical weed killer or laborious weed removal. It also creates a barrier so you don't loose any material.
After tidying up the membrane, the ditch fill is shovelled into place. A standard size bowling green needs one tonne of rubber ditch fill. A good workout for our team!
All that work meant hungry bellies, what better way to fuel up than fish and chips!
All that was left to do was a thorough tidy up before heading home, just as dusk fell.
