Rubber chipping for chicken runs

Our Safer Surfacing rubber chippings for chicken runs is a really popular product and one of the best selling items we have this summer!

How it is made

We process the recycled rubber into a number of products that can be used in play areas, landscaping, pathways and drives, equestrian and, of course, in chicken runs!

Our products can be coloured to suit the environment they are going in to and can be bound together with resin to produce a safe, comfortable and colourful surface.

The chicken run

One of our lovely customers, Dawn, was so pleased with her rubber chippings for chickens that she sent us some before and after pictures – and we agree with Dawn – it looks lovely!

Before

We know that chickens love a good old dust bath and this can be easily created using an old tyre, some soil and grit mix, so the chickens can still indulge in a spot of pampering (ok, cleaning!)

The site could get quite boggy and dirty in wet weather, so the investment in rubber chippings was a wise one.

After

Not only is the site now very pleasing to the eye, it also has some other benefits:

  • The rubber chippings do not rot
  • They do not blow away
  • They do not hold moisture
  • They dry very quickly
  • They are easy to clean
  • They are hygienic

Regular hosing down will keep the chippings in good condition and provides the chickens with a clean and dust-free environment.

Colours

Our chippings come in a range of colours so you can be just as creative as you like! If you can’t decide between green and terracotta why not have a mix of both?

  1. Emerald green
  2. Earth brown
  3. Dark terracotta
  4. Sapphire blue
  5. Onyx black
  6. Slate grey
  7. Plum

Why not give us a call, or visit our website to see the range of colours we offer? You will also be able to see the wide variety of uses our fantastic recycled products have!

Safer Surfacing – Producing high quality recycled products from one of the world’s most difficult to dispose materials.
